Xerox Corp. unveiled the Xerox 700 Digital Color Press at drupa. The unit prints at 70 ppm in color or black-and-white and uses a proprietary low-melt EA Toner that prints full color at fast speeds with matte finish image quality. It prints on coated and uncoated paper with a maximum sheet size of 13x19.2" and media latitude between 16-pound bond up to 110-pound cover, and offers automatic two-sided printing up to 80-pound cover on coated and uncoated stocks. Image quality is 2400x2400x1 dpi with front-to-back registration of +/- 1.0mm. Customers can select the CX Print Server powered by Creo, the EX Print Server powered by Fiery, Integrated Fiery Color Server, EFI Splash RPX-iii Software, or Xerox FreeFlow Print Server which for the first time is being offered in standard or professional editions. Finishing options include an Advanced Finisher, Professional Finisher, Light Production C Finisher, and High-Capacity Stacker. Canon
Building upon the success of its imagePRESS C7000VP digital press, Canon USA introduced the imagePRESS C6000VP and imagePRESS C6000 models at On Demand. The imagePRESS C6000VP prints up to 1200x1200 dpi resolution with engine speed of 60 letter-sized ppm, regardless of media weight. The imagePRESS C6000 is an entry level device built around the same engine. The company also introduced several new accessories for the line. The imagePRESS Server A3100 and A2100 Print Controllers are designed for both Windows and Mac environments. Ricoh
Ricoh has introduced the Ricoh Pro C900, a 90 ppm color digital printer with a paper capacity of 11,000 sheets. It accepts paper sizes up to 13x19.2" in weights up to 110-pound cover and 165-pound index, which runs at rated speed. Image quality is 1200x1200 dpi and the unit is equipped with a built-in EFI Fiery controller. It also features ColorWise Pro Tools like calibration, custom profile creation, and spot color matching. EFI FreeForm utility enables VDP capability. Finishing options include a 3,000-sheet finisher with 100-sheet stapler, punch unit, Plockmatic booklet maker, saddle stitch unit, GBC StreamPunch III, and Z-folder. Ring Binder or Perfect Binder units are also available. The Ring Binder automatically punches and binds documents of up to 50 or 100 pages with black or white rings. Konica Minolta
Konica Minolta has unveiled the bizhub PRO C6500 System, which features 65 ppm color and black-and-white printing and copying with a 300,000-page monthly duty cycle. It can duplex print heavy and coated stocks, up to 256 gsm, through any tray, and 300 gsm stock simplex prints through a dedicated paper tray. Maximum paper capacity is 7,500 sheets in sizes up to 13x19.2" for full-bleed 12x18" output. Finishing options include a saddle-stitch booklet maker for up to 200-page trimmed booklets, a multi-folding unit with post-inserter and hole punch, and a 5,000-sheet stacker unit.

Kodak
Kodak's NexPress M700 prints at 70 ppm and outputs four colors at a maximum 1,200 dpi resolution. It is rated for up to 150,000 images per month. It accepts coated, uncoated, recycled and recycled papers as well as labels in weights up to 300 gsm.
